The following images were taken on mission in El Salvador, 2001, and Haiti, 2002. Spending time with the Maryknoll missionaries working in El Salvador was an incredible grace. It opened up a renewed sense of solidarity for me, and an awareness of the great need of the human family to build together, work and sweat, pray and struggle together on our common journey through life.

The mission of Hands Together, in Haiti, where I spent a week in the summer of 2002, was both inspiring and heart-breaking. Here are the poorest of the poor, a people who have been on the Cross for generations. But as always, especially in the smiles of the little ones, there remains the light of Hope and an unshakable trust that God is in their midst, through it all, carrying His Cross along with them. Mary, Mother of Missionaries, pray for us!
